Essex County Presents Free 2017 Summer Music Concert Series

The following is from the Essex County Executive’s office:

Essex County, NJ – Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to visit the Essex County Parks System and enjoy the 2017 Essex County Free Summer Music Concert Series. Upcoming events feature The Cameos, a House Music Festival and the Essex County Talent Showcase.

“Our Free Concert Series offers a diverse lineup of performers who will take center stage in venues throughout our historic Essex County Park System. Pack a blanket, enjoy the cool evening breeze and dance to the sounds of classical, rock and roll, jazz, big band, Latin and more,” DiVincenzo said.

The Cameos

Known as “New Jersey’s Favorite Oldies Group,” The Cameos are a talented eight-piece oldies and vocal harmony group that creates and performs their own unique renditions of the most popular songs of the 1950s 1960s and 1970s. Their style of performance and notorious vocal harmonies breathe a new life into all of the best hits. Each member of the group brings their own unique talents and interpretations to the music which makes for a dynamic stage presence for the band. The concert will be held as follows:

House Music Festival

The 2017 Essex Summer Concert Series continues with a House Music Festival in Essex County Monte Irvin Orange Park. It will be held as follows:

 

Date:               Saturday, August 19, 2017

                        Time:              2 to 7 p.m.

Place:             Essex County Monte Irvin Orange Park

                                                South Center Street and Harrison Street

Orange, NJ

 

Essex County Talent Showcase

The 2017 Essex Summer Concert Series continues with the Essex County Talent Showcase in Essex County Monte Irvin Orange Park. It will be held as follows:

Date:               Sunday, August 20, 2017

                        Time:              2 to 7 p.m.

Place:             Essex County Monte Irvin Orange Park

                                                South Center Street and Harrison Street

Orange, NJ

 

The SummerMusic Concert Series is being sponsored by Rose Squared Productions, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey and TD Bank. The series is also made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.

Concerts are held at accessible sites. Persons who require special accommodations or assistance are asked to call at least two weeks prior to the concert to alert staff as to their needs. The Essex County Park System was created in 1895 and is the first county park system established in the United States. The Park System consists of more than 6,000 acres and has 23 parks, five reservations, an environmental center, a zoo, Treetop Adventure Course, ice skating rink, roller skating rink, three public golf courses, golf driving range, two miniature golf courses, Treetop Adventure Course, three off-leash dog facilities, a castle and the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens.
