Nerd alert: come March 10, Millburn, New Jersey will experience a revenge of The Nerds. You know, the Jersey Shore cover band whose repertoire covers everything from punk to rock to R&B and everything in between! The Nerds are set to headline the most popular fundraiser of the year, Millburn Schools Rock the Casbah, put on by The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills and presenting sponsor Shannon Aronson, realtor, Keller Williams. Benefitting all eight schools in the district, Millburn Schools Rock is an evening of dining, entertainment, dancing, auction and raffles taking place at the Short Hills Hilton.

The Nerds last played to a sold-out Millburn Schools Rock audience in 2011 and are back by popular demand! With a 25 year history of getting crowds on their feet and rocking out to their music, the band is sure to rock the casbah at this year’s Moroccan-themed evening.  Band members Spaz, Mongo, Stretch and Biff are known for playing all over the Jersey shore and have also performed to adoring crowds at Carnegie Hall, South Street Seaport as well as on MTV, The View and more.

“We’re thrilled to bring back The Nerds, whose last performance is still fresh in our minds,” exclaims foundation co-president Lauri Palomaki. “Millburn/Short Hills is looking forward to an exciting night with phenomenal live music that will help raise much needed funds for our schools,” adds co-president Robin Eichler.

Millburn Schools Rock is The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills’ largest source of funding each year. Through its grant system, the organization funds programs, technology and equipment that enhance the educational experience of the students. Last year’s event helped fund such items as STEAM cycle courses at Millburn Middle School, cycle desks, STEAM programs, and kinesthetic classrooms at the elementary level, and robotics, adventure course and film studio upgrades at Millburn High School.

The Ed Foundation is still seeking sponsors at a variety of levels, directory advertisements and auction and raffle items. Please contact event chairs Sonali Ganti at sonali@ganti.com or Rumy Sidhu at rumy29@gmail.com to make a donation or with any questions.
