It may shock you to hear this, but Thanksgiving is less than a week away.

Do not panic.

Several local retailers, restaurants and grocers have got your back.

Kings Super Market in Maplewood will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Trader Joe’s is closed. Whole Foods Millburn-Union is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop & Shop in Union is open until 5 p.m. but we haven’t tracked down a number yet for the new South Orange store – stay tuned! ShopRite of Union (Rte 22) is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Then there’s kitchen and cooking supplies. Ben Salmon of South Orange’s Kitchen a la Mode has a handy-dandy Thanksgiving checklist (see below). He’s also got all the necessary cooking tools, from cutting stones to silpat non-stick baking sheets, as well as festive decorative items to keep you on track (and he’ll even sharpen your knives).

Need a pie? Joe Ramaikas of Cedar Ridge Cafe & Bakery told us he’s taking pie orders until Saturday, November 21 (we ordered the maple cream for $21.40). We’ll update this story with news on other bakeries when we hear back!

Not planning to cook at all? Dine out at Verjus on Springfield Avenue in Maplewood — consistently rated one of the top restaurants in New Jersey and specializing in New American and French cuisine  — which will have seatings between 3:15 and 6:15 p.m. Check the Verjus Facebook page for menu updates.

And Verjus isn’t the only game in town: Above Restaurant & Bar and The Table will be serving dinner, and The Village Diner in South Orange will be open until 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving.  Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse in Millburn is also open (11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.). Moonshine Supper Club is serving from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Martini Bistro & Bar in Millburn is open from 1-5 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

According to TAPintoSOMA.net, the Maplewood Leaf Diner at 165 Maplewood Avenue will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Park Wood Diner on Springfield Avenue will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
