Maplewood Health Department Offers Springtime Programs for Seniors

The Maplewood Health Department invites seniors to take place in a variety of events this April including a pot luck picnic and free health consultations, details below. Also make sure to check out the Township’s new website for senior activities here.

April 22, Earth Day Rahway River Clean Up and Pot Luck Picnic will take place from 10 AM-2 PM. Check in at the bridge near the Civic House (124 Dunnell Rd) and in the high school parking lot at Parker Road. For more information go to www.maplewoodisgreen.org  Please wear proper footwear (closed toe, waterproof shoes or boots), gardening or work gloves and rake are good items to bring.

April 29, Prescription Drug Take Back Day will take place from 10 AM-2 PM at the Maplewood Police Headquarters, 1618 Springfield Ave. Bring your unused and expired medications and safely dispose of them at this event.

Township Adult Health Clinics: April 19th at the Main Library, 51 Baker St., 10:30 AM-12 noon and April 20th at Maplewood Town Hall/ Municipal Building, 574 Valley St., 10 AM- 12 noon. This event is free and open to Maplewood residents. Services include: blood pressure screening, pre-diabetes screening, weight checks, nutrition and health counseling and wellness promotion.
