To the Editor:

I am writing to express my support for Susie Adamson for South Orange/Maplewood Board of Education. I had the pleasure of serving on the District’s Presidents Council during Susie’s tenure as co-President of that group. In leading monthly meetings of PTA and HSA leaders and in representing the parent community in day-to-day interactions with central administration, Susie was always incredibly organized, well prepared, and a skilled facilitator who was able to keep discussions focused and productive.

Susie has ‘worked her way up’ in volunteer roles within the District and is deeply knowledgeable on a wide range of issues of importance to the school community. She is not afraid to ask the tough questions and advocate passionately for needed change. Yet she avoids knee-jerk reactions and finger pointing; instead, she listens closely, seeks out multiple perspectives, and takes a thoughtful approach to finding workable solutions.

Susie Adamson understands the work at hand, has demonstrated her commitment to service on behalf of students of all neighborhoods, cultures, and abilities, and has the necessary skills and experience to build agreement and get things done on the Board.

Sincerely,

Jenny Lindstrom
