Maplewood Police Arrest New York Man with Active Warrant

Maplewood Police officers on a traffic detail in the area of Maplewood Avenue and Baker Street on Friday saw a man driving while using his cell phone. After stopping 28-year-old Martin Christie of New York, officers found he had an active warrant for his arrest, said Sgt. Christopher Black. Officers arrested Christie and issued him several summonses.

March 8, 2017; Theft from Vehicle; At approximately 4 PM a male entered an unsecured vehicle on Camptown Rd and removed a cell phone.

March 11, 2017: Theft from Auto; Between 11:45 Am and 12:15 PM a purse was removed from an unsecured vehicle on Boyden Parkway.

March 14, 2017; Attempted Vehicle Theft; During the overnight hours, a vehicle parked in an unsecured garage on Springfield Ave was entered and damage consistent with an attempted theft was caused to the ignition.
