Brush off your guitars! On Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 pm, the Ethical Culture Society, the first dedicated Peace Site in New Jersey, will host the event “United We Sing: Sing-Out (and Write-In) for Democracy!” Postcards will be provided for you to write to your elected officials regarding your most burning issues. Bring a snack or beverage to share.

The Ethical Culture Society is located at 516 Prospect Street, corner of Parker Ave. Maplewood, NJ.

Harmonize with: labor lawyer, Bennet Zurofsky, Director of the Solidarity Singers of NJ; Lisa Novemsky, leader of Folk Fridays; Ian Grodman, immigration attorney, speaker on Sanctuary Cities; and Social activist installation artist, Anne Dushanko Dobek – Sooth Your Soul: fears, anxieties, secrets will be committed to paper then ceremonially burned at the end of the program. Artist Florence Weisz’s Obamart Flag will be available as a fundraiser for the Ethical Culture Society.

“Courage is more exhilarating than fear and in the long run easier. We do not have to become heroes overnight, just a step at a time, meeting each thing as it comes up, seeing it is not as dreadful as it appears, discovering we have the strength to stare it down.” – Eleanor Roosevelt.
