The South Orange Middle School HSA has debuted a brand new website, just in time for the approaching school year.
The SOMS Cougars site, which can be found at somshsa.org, features events and important dates, information about the school and individual grades, links to the school and district calendars, news about each grade, extra curricular programs and more.
There are also links to ways to donate and volunteer.
Some upcoming important dates for SOMS students and parents to know (all of which can be found on the school calendar):
- Summer Meet & Greet for New Students August 31st
All new students, please join us for a Summer Meet & Greet on Monday, August 31st, 3:30 to 5 pm at SOMS. Meet members of the SOMS staff and HSA for a brief presentation from 3:30-4 pm. Stay to mingle with incoming students & families for an informal gathering in the courtyard with light refreshments. School spirit-wear will be available for purchase. - First Day of 2015/16 School Year: Thursday, 9/3 for grades 6 and 7; Friday, 9/4 for grade 8.
- Monday, 9/7: district closed for Labor Day
- Friday, 9/11: Book Fair begins
- Monday, 9/14 and Tuesday, 9/15: district closed for Rosh HashanahÂ
- Thursday, 9/17 Back to School Night 7-9 p.m. (Four hour day)
