What a coup!
South Orange will serve as a laboratory for professionals in downtown revitalization and redevelopment this October when it hosts the annual Downtown New Jersey conference.
The theme of the conference this year is “The Newest Trends in Downtown: From Experienced-Based Retail to the Reinvention of White Elephants.”
The conference will take place on Oct. 12, 2017, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm in the Loft at the South Orange Performing Arts Center and will culminate in a walking tour of South Orange Village Center. Village President Sheena Collum will give the keynote address.
Panels include “Experience-based Retail — Options for Business Districts” and “White Elephant Redevelopment in Downtown.” The event includes networking breaks as well as a lunch and the annual Downtown New Jersey Awards ceremony.
As promoted on its website, Downtown New Jersey is “an organization of individuals, businesses, government agencies, and local and regional organizations that are passionate about downtowns. Count on us as your resource for anything regarding the vitality of our downtowns in New Jersey!”
