A man and a woman who had just finished an early morning jog in Maplecrest Park were accosted by two teens who robbed them of cash and cell phones last week, according to Sgt. Christopher Black of the Maplewood Police Department.

The two joggers were walking back home on Boyden Parkway at around 5:15 a.m. on April 28 when two males described as being in their late teens came out of the bushes in front of a house and approached them. With one of the teens keeping his hand underneath his sweatshirt as if he had a gun, they demanded the joggers’ money and cell phones before running away towards the park, said Black.

Both teens were described as having thin builds and were wearing dark pants and black hooded sweatshirts, Black said. No further description was available.
