You Can’t Stop the Beat As ‘Hairspray’ Plays at the Burgdorff

You can’t stop the beat at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts this weekend when “Hairspray” continues its three-week run. Performances are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Directed by Rob Pape, The Strollers’ production features fabulous performances by Lucinda Fisher (Tracy Turnblad), Rob Ryan (Link Larkin), Eric Parkin (Edna Turnblad), Peter Alexander (Corny Collins), Dena Daniel (Velma Von Tussle), Regine Riviere (Motormouth Maybelle), Glen Albright (Wilber Turnblad), and Edward Ash-Milby and Carol Cornicelli in multiple roles.

The show also features the young talents of Holly Lehren, Jalil Moultrie, Lucy Freeman, Jeremy Payano, Anique Evans, Victoire Omou, Adunni Rae Charles, Ronnell Solomon, Jayshawn Moultrie, Jessie McLaughlin, Luke Grzelewski, Gabriel Bongiorno, Olivia Herring, Matthew Lintern, Rose Kortrey, Joshua Ewing, Julia Herrero and Kayla Freedman.

Marsha Schreier is the show’s musical director.

All performances are at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Durand Road. The final shows will be 8 p.m. Saturday, May 9; 2 p.m. Sunday May 10; and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 15 and May 16.
