Maplewood Township will be reviewing and discussing its draft Environmental Resource Inventory at a virtual public meeting at 7:30 p.m. on September 30, 2026.
According to the draft, the Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) “provides the foundation for local decision-making. It details information that planners and local officials can use to craft public policy and make land use decisions that align with their community’s priorities. The ERI describes the natural resources and environmental conditions in a given locality. Within Maplewood’s boundaries, the natural environment has been substantially modified and shaped by human design over the last century and a half. Maplewood’s ERI takes stock of current conditions and their impact on human and ecological health and well-being.”
On a post on social media, Maplewood Mayor Vic De Luca wrote, “The ERI is a comprehensive report that measures and evaluates Maplewood’s environmental resources. It will be used to support local sustainability efforts and strategic planning.”
