Springfield Avenue Maplewood (SAM) is bringing back its popular beer-tasting fundraiser with a new name and an expanded lineup. The Art on Tap Fundraiser will take place Friday, October 2, from 6:30–9:30 p.m. at the Wine Barrel parking lot, 1886 Springfield Avenue, Maplewood.
Formerly known as the Craft Beer Tasting, Art on Tap features unlimited samples of craft beer, cider, sangria, and more—all while raising funds for public art and beautification on Springfield Avenue.
New this year: enjoy a kid-free night! SAM is partnering with the South Mountain YMCA to offer low-cost supervised children’s drop-off at St. Joseph’s Church, just one block away. Guests can register through the South Mountain YMCA for Kids Night Out: Magical ManiaÂ
Guests can sample beers from a dozen local and regional breweries including Pallet Brewing, Other Half Brewing, Sixpoint, Magnify, Cape May, Seven Tribesmen, Lawson’s and more
Options for non-beer drinkers include samples from Post Meridiem canned cocktails, Señor Sangria, and hard cider from Iron Bound and 1911.Â
Other highlights include:Â
- Food available for purchase from local Springfield Avenue businesses, including The Sandwicheria, Grandma Emma’s, Community Café, and HLS.
- DJ Dirty Preston spinning the soundtrack for the night
- An interactive community art project designed by local artist Magie McGowan
Tickets are $30 in advance online and $35 at the door. The event is open to adults ages 21 and over.
Proceeds from Art on Tap support Springfield Avenue public art. Past fundraisers have helped fund utility box murals and four public murals along Springfield Avenue.
