From Maplewood Village Alliance:
Maplewood Village will turn pink on Thursday, October 8, from 5:30–9:00 PM for the Girls’ Night Out Pink Party, an evening of shopping, dining, music, community and fundraising in support of breast cancer research.

Organized by Kimaya Salaskar, owner of Kimaya Kama, board member of the Maplewood Village Alliance and event chair. The event will bring local businesses and the community together for a festive evening throughout Maplewood Village. Maplewood Avenue will be closed to traffic, creating a pedestrian-friendly celebration with music, shopping and dining specials, refreshments, giveaways, outdoor activities and plenty of pink throughout the Village. The first 200 attendees will receive special Girls’ Night Out goodie bags, filled with treats and surprises contributed by participating businesses and supporters.
This year’s Pink Party has an especially meaningful mission: raising funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). As a breast cancer survivor, Kimaya has made supporting breast cancer research a cause especially close to her heart. “This cause is incredibly personal to me as a breast cancer survivor,” said Kimaya. “Girls’ Night Out is about having a fun night in Maplewood, supporting our wonderful local businesses and, most importantly, coming together as a community to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.”
Brian Dittmar of Maker + Muse contributes his creative talents to Girls’ Night Out each year, designing the event graphics and map that bring the look and feel of the evening together and help guide guests through participating businesses across Maplewood Village.
