Columbia High School will reopen on Wednesday, October 7, after being closed two days this week due to an internal water main break. The South Orange-Maplewood School District sent out the following email to CHS families on Tuesday afternoon:

Good afternoon, Columbia High School Families,

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding over the past two days. We recognize that this has been a stressful and challenging situation for our students, families, and staff, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility as our team worked to address the situation.

Our facilities team and vendors have been working diligently and around the clock to remove the water from the affected areas, assess the building, and complete the necessary repairs. We are pleased to share that water service has been restored to Columbia High School.

Classes will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7. We look forward to welcoming our students and staff back to Columbia High School.

Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and continued support of our school community.
