If you’ve enjoyed Arts Unbound‘s holiday pop-up shop in Maplewood Village in the past, then we have some good news for you.
The non-profit, which represents artists with disabilities and seniors, celebrated its new, permanent Maplewood showcase at 100 Baker Street on Saturday, Oct. 10 with a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Mayor Vic DeLuca, Deputy Mayor Kathy Leventhal and Assemblywoman Mila Jasey.
For the uninitiated: Arts Unbound provides visual arts education and professional development to people living with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities and seniors and then promotes these artists’ work in the retail market through its website and retail locations. Currently, Arts Unbound represents more than 60 artists.
The Maplewood showcase is Arts Unbound’s second location; the first shop is located at The Stefanie Garwin Gallery at Arts Unbound at 544 Freeman Street in Orange.
Both showcases feature the unique works of the artists, including jewelry, textiles, ceramics, as well as fine art and limited edition prints.
Visitors to Saturday’s Maplewood grand opening received copies of a free coloring book featuring designs by Arts Unbound artists, students, and art instructors.
