Peanut, a 9 lb. Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix dog with three legs, has transfixed social media in Maplewood for the last three days as his owners frantically search for him.
Peanut slipped from his collar around 6 p.m. on December 30 on Pierson Road in Maplewood. He is not wearing identification but is microchipped. He is friendly but timid and may run if approached.
“The last sighting we have is 7 p.m. last night (December 30) on Indiana near Franklin,” owner Catherine Delett told Village Green on Saturday, Dec. 31.
If you have information on Peanut’s whereabouts, email Delett at catbird@gmail.com or call/text 201-910-0254.
Delett noted the one silver lining to the family’s search: “The support we have received from not only friends/acquaintances, but total strangers has been amazing and a true testament to our community.”
