South Orange Police arrested a 27-year-old Montclair resident shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Montclair.
After responding to a call reporting two men selling compact discs on Sloan Street, officers saw two people who matched the description near Starbucks, according to the police blotter. Officers stopped them for further investigation and checked both men for outstanding wants and warrants. One, Silas Haynes, had no wants or warrants; officers cited him for having an open container of alcohol and let him go.
Officers arrested Chas Garland for the outstanding arrest warrant out of Montclair and transported him to police headquarters for processing.
