Here is more information from a press release:
This event is the major fundraiser for the top-flight Columbia Fencing program and its student-athletes, perennially one of the best high school fencing programs in New Jersey. Last year, the boys and girls teams won the 2014 NJSIAA State Championships. Since 2003, the boys and girls teams have collectively won 18 NJSIAA State Championships. Columbia High School Fencing alumni have been and are currently members of the United States Senior World Champion Team, Cadet and Junior World Champion Teams, and Pan American Games Teams.
“In the 14 years I have served at Columbia High School as a teacher, coach or athletic director, I have been amazed at the intensity of the members of the fencing team,” said Larry Busichio, CHS director of athletics and student activities. “These players put all of their efforts into keeping Columbia High School’s fencing team one of the best in the state and honor the great tradition of the program.”
The Columbia High School Fencing Parents’ Association is a parent organization dedicated to support the fencing team. For more information, visit their Facebook page and website.
