Maplewood Township and its Health Department are asking residents to participate in on online health survey as part of an effort to meet the requirements for a Sustainable Jersey 2022 certification.
Per Maplewood Township Committee member Nancy Adams, via Village Green News & Views Facebook page:
Please take this brief survey to help Maplewood achieve 2022 certification from Sustainable Jersey! Sustainable Jersey certification is considered a prestigious NJ award and certified municipalities are viewed as leaders in the state. Maplewood deserves to be included.
We need a minimum of 50 Maplewood residents to fill out our easy online Local Health Assessment by August 25th to be considered for certification. Please click below to participate, express your opinions, and help us achieve our goal. Thank you!

However, Village Green first published the survey here after the township sent it out with the following email explanation:
The Maplewood Health Department is conducting a community health assessment survey to determine how residents feel about public health in Maplewood. We want to hear your opinions on current services and offerings, as well as your ideas for additional actions we can take to make Maplewood a healthier and more equitable place to live, work, and play.

In response to a post by a local resident on SOMA Lounge, Maplewood Nurse Anna Markarova clarified, “It is for Sustainable Jersey – the assessment is needed for certification. The township does get the data to assess the needs and responses made by the community.” In response to a question, Markarova further clarified that the survey is not a Department of Health survey but that the town will get the data as will Sustainable Jersey.
