A Brief History of Bizarre Bazaar’s Abominable Snowmonster in Photos (Event is Dec 3)

Forty of the most talented local artists, crafters and collectors will gather on December 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Studio B Holiday Bizarre Bazaar at The Woodland in Maplewood.

Chosen from nearly 100 applicants, the artists will bring their handmade jewelry, fine art, sewn and knitted textiles, paper goods, amazing vintage finds, tutus for kids, holiday delights, eclectic evening bags, home décor, handmade clothing and a thousand things beyond description.

Studio B, a local non-profit organization that focuses on local artists, started the Holiday Bizarre Bazaar five years ago as a way to engage local visual artists with a wider audience.

The sale has become a favorite county-wide, bringing in an ever-growing audience – including many residents from Montclair and beyond. Part of the charm is the use of Bumble the Abominable Snowmonster in the event branding. Bumble appears on social media in the weeks preceding the events to promote the Bizarre Bazaar — and Maplewood Village mainstays like St. James’s Gate, The Able Baker, No. 165, Village Ice Cream, Palmer’s Sweetery, Arturo’s Osteria, Kim’s Nails, Sprout, Cedar Ridge Cafe & Bakery and Maplewood Stationers.

At the Bizarre Bazaar, you can get in the picture and snap a selfie with Bumble on his Woodland throne – for just a $5 donation to Studio B.

The Bizarre Bazaar is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Maplewood Department of Cultural Affairs. Enjoy photos of Bumble below.
