Here is more information from SOVCA:

Every weekend evening between now and Labor Day, the South Orange Village Center Alliance puts on two great concerts at a time – one on Sloan Street in the plaza in front of Village Diner, and the other at Spiotta Park on South Orange Avenue between the Chase Bank building and Village Plaza.

Every Friday and Saturday night you’ll hear something unique from some of the best local musicians around. So many different genres are presented during the summer series. For example, this Friday night, the series kicks off on Sloan Street with Bossa5 playing the classic hits and lesser-known gems from the great Brazilian songbook, mixing in some Afro-Cuban tunes for added spice. At Spiotta Park, we’ve got another crowd favorite, the Exit Row Band, playing a mixture of classic rock and blues and today’s hits. Why not mix in a little Matchbox 20 with your Creedence Clearwater Revival? Works for me!

On Saturday night, Spiotta Park offers Courtney Sappington, a highly versatile guitarist who can be found in bands, accompanying singers, playing for Broadway orchestras, and playing solo guitar. Also on Saturday, Flip Peters/ Larry Maltz Guitar Duo performs on Sloan Street. And this weekend – we have special bonus concerts on Sunday night! Hey, it’s not a school night so why not? Sunday night at Spiotta is NoName James & ButterBall who have been playing their brand of Blues-Rock around the tri-state area for over twenty years. And on Sloan Street Sunday night, Laredo takes audiences on a trip through an Americana landscape covering a variety of styles, from blues to folk to good old Rock and Roll.

So this weekend and every weekend this summer, from 7:30 to 10 PM you can get some take out food from one of our great restaurants, grab a lawn chair and get set for some great live music at Downtown After Sundown!
