Two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway star and Maplewood resident Christine Ebersole will be joined by a bill of local Broadway performers from Mamma Mia, Lion King, Wicked, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, and many other hits in the first annual Broadway FurBall, a benefit for the nonprofit Furry Hearts Rescue organization on Monday, November 10 at The Woodland in Maplewood.
The all-star cast includes Richard Todd Adams, Robert DuSold, Jim Ferris, Becky Gulsvig, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Erin Maguire, Sean McCourt, Beth McCourt, Adrienne Mckeown, Emily Rozek, Steve Zinnato, and other special guests.
All are donating their time and talent for a gala performance to raise funds for the Maplewood-based Furry Hearts Rescue, an all-volunteer organization that has implemented a TNVR (Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return) program to reduce the town’s feral cat population and provides medical care and food to abandoned and homeless cats and dogs, and is dedicated to finding foster and permanent homes for these neglected animals.
Wine, beer, hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be served before and after the performance. The party begins at 7 p.m., the performance begins at 8 p.m., and a meet-and-greet with the stars follows the performance. Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 the day of the benefit, and include food and drinks. All proceeds benefit Furry Hearts Rescue and a portion of the ticket price is tax-deductible. A silent auction and raffle begin at 7 p.m. and continue throughout the night.
“We are thrilled and very excited that so many performers are donating their time to this very worthy cause,” said the founders of Furry Hearts. “We’re looking forward to a very exciting night that will go a long way toward helping Furry Hearts expand our mission and help these animals who are desperately in need and might not otherwise survive.”
