Love Letters is an intimate, 2-person show told through the letters exchanged over nearly 50 years between Andrew Makepeace Ladd III (played by Ted Cancila) and Melissa Gardner (played by Rosemary Wall). Romantically attached from childhood through adulthood, though living separate lives, the two share their ups and downs, hopes and ambitions, and twists and turns that life brings.
The show premiered in 1988 in NYC, starring the playwright as Andrew and Holland Taylor as Melissa, and has been performed countless times over the last 20 years throughout the country. In 1999, Gurney adapted the play into a TV movie for ABC starring Laura Linney and Steven Webber.
Crew members for this production include producer Nicholas J. Clarey, scenic designer Jerry Narciso, lighting designer Zach Pizza, and Publicity & Media team Sabrina Santoro and Mark J. Parker.
Founded in 2009, interACT is now in its 9th season of bringing award-winning theatre to the community. Next on their slate is the classic comedic play You Can’t Take It With You, running three weekends in March. More details at interactproductions.org.
