Mets Legend Keith Hernandez Signs on for MapSO Book Fest June 9

From the Maplewood-South Orange Book Festival:

Please join legendary first baseman Keith Hernandez in a talk and signing in honor of his gripping and literary memoir I’m Keith Hernandez. Keith will be in conversation with former NY1 personality Budd Mishkin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road, Maplewood, NJ. (Purchase tickets here.)

This will be the opening event for the Saturday portion of the 2018 Maplewood-South Orange Book Festival.


The 2018 Maplewood-South Orange Book Festival will take place on Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th at the Woodland and Words Bookstore in Maplewood. TheFriday night event will be a benefit for the libraries in Maplewood and South Orange featuring best-selling thriller author David Baldacci. The Saturday portion of the festival will feature over 70 authors, including Oprah Book Club selection Tayari Jones, Anna Quindlen, and Claire Messud. There will also be panels on hot-button topics such as race and education, the rise of white supremacy, and the #Metoo movement. On the less serious side, the festival will host several food and drink panels.

The book festival will also have an extensive children’s area, with over 40 children’s and YA authors, as well as a kids “fun zone,” featuring games, music, food, face-painting and general mayhem for kids of all ages. Iconic kid’s author Rosemary Wells will deliver the children’s keynote address.

Other than Keith Hernandez and the Friday night library benefit, all events are free of charge and open to the public.

*Please note that Julia Louis-Dreyfus is not currently scheduled to appear at the festival.
