Midtown Direct Rep (MDR), co-directors/producers Deborah Goldstein (producer/host Pants on Fire podcast), Brooke Lefferts (US Entertainment video editor/writer at Associated Press), Sandy Rustin (Actress/Playwright) are pleased to announce the local cast of the 2018 Listen to Your Mother show, a national series of original live readings about motherhood.
This 5th Annual North Jersey production, presented by Midtown Direct Rep will take place on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at The Woodland (60 Woodland Rd. Maplewood, NJ, 07040). Open auditions were held in early February, and 13 writers have been selected to join the movement of “giving motherhood a microphone.” Tickets are $40-$55 and are available at middirrep.com. This year, Listen to Your Mother will be presented across the United States with the mission of taking the audience on a well-crafted journey that celebrates and validates motherhood (in all of its complexity, diversity, and humor) in the form of original readings performed live on-stage by their authors. Listen To Your Mother was conceived from the creative work of online writers, and each production is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities.
The 2018 cast will feature some of North Jersey’s most talented writers, bloggers, and storytellers including: Amanda Eigen, Adam Epstein, Jen Gregory, Kim Kassnove, Tina Kelley, Stephanie Lawson-Muhammad, Brooke Lefferts, Mary Tautin Moloney, Rosemary Ostmann, Dorri Ramati, Emily Regas, Krista Ruhe, and Amy Salomon.
