Fall is in the air, and so is musical fun for young children! The Maplewood Library’s popular program “Music For Kids” resumes this Saturday, September 19, in the library’s Vic De Luca Community Room. The program is geared to children ages 5 and older.
Saturday’s program features singer/guitarist/composer Yasser Tejeda, who engages young audiences in the sounds and rhythms of the music of the Dominican Republic. Children will sing, clap, and move with Yasser in a lively 45-minute session.

The first session will be 10:15 – 11; the program will be repeated at 11:30-12:15. The program is free of charge; reservations are encouraged but not mandatory.
Save these dates for the final two 2026 Music for Kids programs: October 17 and November 21.
Music For Kids is sponsored by the Maplewood Library with the support of a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and is curated with help from members of the Maplewood Arts Council. Inspiration for this series comes from a similar program created 30 years ago by Maplewood’s late, beloved community arts pioneer Jim Buchanan.
