Krohley, a local resident since the 1970s, has been producing a Nutcracker Ballet with her students every December at the Burgdorff Center in Maplewood Village since the 1980s. The NJ Dance Center Nutcracker is a “child friendly one-hour long performance using local children with guest artists.”
This year, the performances will benefit the Red Cross.
“This is our 28th anniversary of this iconic ballet and has become a Maplewood tradition,” Krohley told Village Green. “In 1996 we were honored by the White House for our production.”
Performances are on Sat. Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Tickets are $18 and available at the New Jersey Dance Center, 202 Maplewood Ave., Monday 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 5 to 7 p.m. and Sat. 9:30 a.m. to noon.
