The 2nd Annual North Jersey Pride Black & White Ball, held Saturday at The Woodland in Maplewood, was once again a smashing success. This black-tie fundraiser supports LGBTQ youth programming.

“The event was sold out with 300 attendees and people danced to the bitter end—they loved the band,” said NJ Pride Executive Director CJ Prince. “There was such a wonderful level of diversity at this year’s event—gender, racial, sexual orientation, it was really amazing.”

Prince said the event raised roughly $10,000 for LGBTQ youth, benefiting the “Stand Up Speak Out” school assembly program, with a portion also going to the backpack program for LGBTQ foster children.

Here are a list of this year’s sponsors:

Gold Sponsors: Bayer and the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest NJ

Silvers Sponsors: Atlantic Health, Nancy and David Fine Jewels, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams (who donated all the lounge furniture) and Anthony Garubo salon.

Bronze Sponsors: Front & Center for Performing Arts, Lotus Petals, (who donated all the flowers), Bill Hollingsworth of Hollingsworth Digital Artistry Studios, who donated all the photography, and Midtown Direct Rep.

Media Sponsor: Village Green

Performers included Broadway veteran Robert DuSold and Julie Waldman-Stiel, who donated their time and talent.

Cedar Ridge Cafe & Bakery catered the event, providing hot and cold appetizers and a selection of desserts.
