Pride Movie Night: Screening ‘From Selma to Stonewall’ June 20 at The Woodland

This Thursday night, June 20, 2019, North Jersey Pride will host a screening of the documentary, “From Selma to Stonewall,” which explores the similarities, differences and conflicts between the Black Civil Rights and LGBTQ Equality movements. Rev. Gilbert Caldwell, the film’s co-executive producer, will introduce the film at 7 p.m.; following the screening, WNYC’s Nancy Solomon will lead a discussion with Rev. Caldwell and a panel of community leaders, including Rev. Kevin Taylor, senior pastor of Unity Fellowship Church NewArk; Rev. Jerri Mitchell-Lee, educator, mental health counselor and co-pastor of the Unity Fellowship Church NewArk; and Elaine Helms, founder of Reaching Adolescents in Need, (RAIN) Foundation, which houses homeless LGBTQ youth. Refreshments will be served (including wine with 21+ ID). Teens welcome!
