Rent Party will hold their second “Rent Party Family Picnic” in Maplecrest Park this Saturday, September 12.

Family Picnic is an all-day event featuring live music by bands that have performed at Rent Party shows over the last six years. The show is free and attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch. They are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support Rent Party’s food drive.

“We weren’t certain if this was going to turn into an annual event,” said Rent Party co-founder Chris Dickson, “But we seem to be heading in that direction. Maplecrest Park is a great setting and we are excited about this year’s line-up,” added Dickson.

Rent Party presents monthly live music events at The Woodland in Maplewood, with the proceeds supporting local hunger fighting initiatives. Rent Party supports three local food pantries. They have built and maintain 30 raised garden beds, in cooperation with the South Orange Elks and the Maplewood Community Garden, which provides fresh produce for the pantries they support. Rent Party’s BackPack Pals program provides a weekend’s worth of nutritious food for about 100 food-insecure children in South Orange and Maplewood.

Rent Party Pantry, Inc. is a 501(c)(3). For more information about Rent Party, visit their website at www.rentpartylive.com.
