Back for its fourth play-filled year, PlayDay South Orange — Sunday, September 17, from 1-6 p.m. — is the Village’s largest public event and features more than 10 Play Areas, many sponsored by generous local organizations and companies. From board games to basketball, zip lines to rope jumping, it’s the most fun you’ve ever had between two curbs.

PlayDay also includes Art Experience, sponsored by South Orange Country Day School:

Spiotta Park comes alive with a plethora of interactive arts projects brought to you by the South Orange Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs: Drawing Face to Face with Neighbors, Drawing South Orange, Chalk Art, Printmaking and more. The South Orange Public Library offers interactive fun and local artist Ellen Weisbrod will lead participants in Drawing Face-to-Face with Neighbors.

Art Experience Schedule:

1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.:

  • Airbrush Face Painting with Denise Hayden (additional fee applies)
  • Drawing Face-to-Face with Neighbors with Ellen Weisbrod
  • 3D Scanning and Lounge with the South Orange Public Library
