Games of “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” are going to get a lot less challenging for South Orange Middle School families now that one of their own has spent some serious time rubbing elbows with the actor.

South Orange Middle Schooler James Freedson-Jackson recently co-starred with Bacon in the thriller Cop Car. In fact, Freedson-Jackson and his family are heading to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah this week, for the film’s premiere.

Cop Car will be shown in the festival’s Midnight in Park City series, and Freedson-Jackson and his family are being flown out for the opening by the film’s producers.

According to a release, “Cop Car follows the harrowing adventures of two 10-year-olds, who find themselves in the middle of a deadly game of cat and mouse, when they come upon an abandoned police car, and decide to take it for a joy ride. Blissfully unaware of the impending doom they face at every turn, the boys see things go from bad to worse when a corrupt sheriff aims to get his car back at all costs.”
