VOTE: What ‘Moonlit Movies’ Do You Want to See in South Orange in August?

Wednesdays in August bring South Orange Summer Nights “Moonlit Movies” to Flood’s Hill (Meadowlands Park, 70 North Ridgewood Road) the last three Wednesdays in August. Presented by the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC), this popular series will feature a variety of movies the entire family can enjoy together.

Films will be screened August 12, 19 and 26 and are scheduled to begin at 7:45 p.m. All are free with no tickets required. Snacks including popcorn, nachos and zeppolis will be available for purchase the night of the events. In the case of inclement weather, the film showings will be canceled or rescheduled.

Voting is now open on the SOPAC website to determine what three film titles will be presented.

Last year, South Orange residents were treated to E.T., Frozen, and Back to the Future. This year, potential audiences will choose from:

  • Babe (1995)
  • Enchanted (2007)
  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)
  • Ghost Dad (1990)
  • Good Burger (1997)
  • Gremlins (1984)
  • Holes (2003)
  • Shrek (2001)
  • Spirited Away (2001)
  • Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of Were Rabbit (2005).
