Irvington Ave Food Truck, Craft Beer Fest Announces Beers, Trucks, Street Closures

Hoboken-based Waffle De Lys is among ten top food truck vendors booked for the Irvington Avenue Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival.

Empanadas, crab cakes, pulled pork sliders, disco fries, Belgian waffles, ice cream, cupcakes, farm to truck and craft beers are all lined up for the Irvington Avenue Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival, on Friday, October 10.

The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the avenue between Fairview Avenue and Ward Place. Irvington Avenue between Ward Place and Tichenor Avenue will be closed to traffic from 4 p.m. to set up and will remain closed until the festival ends at 10 p.m.

West Fairview Avenue between Village Road and Irvington Avenue, and Fairview Avenue between Irvington Avenue and Gardner Avenue will be closed to all except local residents.

Single side street parking is permitted in the neighborhoods around Ivrington Avenue. Streets will be clearly marked.

Thus far, ten food trucks are lined up, including Cupcake Carnivale, Taqueria Autentica, The Cow & the Curd, Romano’s Disco Fries, Freezy Freeze, Waffle De Lys, The Outslider, Empanada Guy, and Farm Truck Philly. Check for updates on the South Orange Irvington Avenue Facebook page.

The Dean Shot Band, a blues and rock ensemble, will provide live music.

Gaslight Brewery and Restaurant will run a craft beer garden. Craft beer providers include High Point Brewing Co.Kane Brewing Co., and Doc’s Draft Hard Cider.

“For those of you wondering why everyone’s talking about Irvington Avenue, this is your chance to see what’s going on. It’s going to be a blast,” said Doug Zacker, Chair of the Irvington Avenue Corridor Advisory Committee.
