The following is from the Dharmachakra Buddhist Center.

Dharmachakra Buddhist Center (DBC) in the Millburn Village Mall, has launched its fundraising campaign for 2016. The campaign theme is “We Rely On You, So You Can Rely on Us.”

The center offers meditation for everyone – both experienced practitioners and newcomers – along with teachings of Kadampa Buddhism.

Dharmachakra Buddhist Center has been offering Kadampa Buddhism and instruction in meditation for more than a decade. It is a not-for-profit organization financially supported entirely by its members and supporters. Most of its classes are offered free on a voluntary donation basis. As a result, the center runs a deficit each year. During this campaign, DBC is asking for financial help to close this funding gap so they can keep their doors open in 2016 and beyond.

According to Resident Teacher Kadam Peter Kurczynski, “Dharmachakra Buddhist Center is devoted to bringing inner peace to everyone in New Jersey.” In order to continue that mission, he said, “We ask for your support in 2016 and beyond.

“Without inner peace, happiness is unattainable and suffering never ends,” said Kurczynski. “Developing inner peace means learning methods for letting go of anger, improving relationships, and finding wisdom. We provide meditation classes, special events and a vibrant spiritual community for practicing these methods,” he said.
Founded in modern times by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a Tibetan-born Buddhist monk, Kadampa Buddhism is practical and contemporary, yet firmly rooted in the teachings of great Tibetan and Indian masters.

Through the writings of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, it has been modernized and made more accessible to Westerners. Classes at DBC are open to the public.
