The NJ Wool Walk 2015 is four days of fun and yarny goodness for knitters, crocheters, weavers and spinners. Running from April 16 through 19, fourteen shops are participating this year, including Knitknack on Springfield Avenue in Maplewood.

Besides providing the opportunity to win prize baskets, many shops are offering other goodies such as exclusive free patterns, trunk shows showcasing knitwear and yarns, and book signings by popular designers.

How does it work?

Shoppers purchase a Wool Walk bag from any of the 14 participating shops. In each bag there will be a passport which should be stamped at each shop visited. At the last shop visited, participants drop off their passports to be entered into the prize drawings. The more shops visited, the bigger the value of the prize basket.

Knitknack owner Marie Downes said that she has adjusted her hours for the duration of the event. Knitknack Wool Walk hours are as follows:

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 16-18
11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, April 19
11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

(Monday, April 20 – Closed)

According to the NJ Wool Walk 2015 website: “The New Jersey Wool Walk is an event to give passionate knitters, crocheters and fiber artists the opportunity to visit, experience and enjoy the wide array of yarn shops throughout Central, South and North Jersey. Our diverse stores have a variety of yarns, notions, classes and styles. The Wool Walk is a four day festive happening that is not a sale, but an adventure for all lovers of yarn and what it can become!”
