One Ton of Paper Shredded at GenWealth Community Shred Day in Maplewood

The following is from the GenWealth Group:

The GenWealth Group shredded more than 2,000 lbs (1 ton) of paper last Thursday, September 14 outside their Maplewood offices on Inwood Place.

GenWealth provided the community with an opportunity to shred sensitive, personal documents at no cost. A secure mobile document shredding truck was onsite for two hours to perform the task.

“The news these days is filled with stories about the dangers of identity theft. As information thieves get smarter, protecting personal information is of increasing importance. We’re hosting this event to give our community an opportunity to properly dispose of sensitive documents and to protect themselves,” said Cherie Leanza, Vice President, Marketing for GenWealth.

Members of the community needed to be present to witness the secure destruction and could not drop off materials in advance.

“Shredding is a simply solution to help ensure that your trash doesn’t become someone else’s treasure. Bank statements, old credit cards, even your everyday cable bill can contain information about you that may be useful to thieves”. We encourage everyone to come out and take advantage of this service. It’s a great way to de- clutter your home too,” said Leanza.

The GenWealth Group, Inc. is located at 6 Inwood Place, Maplewood, NJ. Pphone: 973-761-0400.
