“This is a game changer for Ladies Night!”
That’s what one fan of the newly opened The Gym Maplewood recently wrote on Facebook.
The Gym’s Managing Director Tim Reynolds is known to many as the proprietor of The Gym on Springfield, where he helped transform Springfield Avenue into a health and fitness mecca more than a decade ago.
But The Gym Maplewood is a whole new world for Reynolds and his toned and talented team — it’s bigger, better and batting (cages, that is).
Indoor batting cages are a testament to the size and scope of the new project, which welcomed the community with a ribbon cutting and celebration on October 1. The beautiful, large and open space of the The Gym features state-of-the-art workout equipment and an open turf space. Besides gym memberships, turf rentals and batting practice, Reynolds and his team — gym director Rafal Kazanecki, Amy Scerbo, and functional sports therapist Anthony Nev Wilson — offer sports training, personal training and Functional Sports Therapy, which “will provide healing therapy to balance your day-to-day stress and your fitness training.”
The Gym is focused on family fitness, says Reynolds. As The Gym’s website states, “We have lived in the SOMA area for more than a decade, we have kids who play sports, and we play sports ourselves. Our model is based on the needs of our families and the families we’ve gotten to know through our children, our teams, and our previous training facility, The Gym on Springfield.”
The Gym Maplewood is located at 1933 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood.
