On September 17, the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce honored lifelong Maplewood resident Jim Buchanan at its Annual Dinner at the Maplewood Country Club.

Buchanan was the recipient of the Chamber’s 2015 Distinguished Service Award. The event was attended by a veritable who’s-who of Maplewood, including Mayor Vic DeLuca, Deputy Mayor Kathy Leventhal, and Committeewoman India Larrier.

To find out more about Maplewood’s beloved Jim Buchanan, read Susan Dillon’s excellent Matter Magazine story: Dillon details Buchanan’s work as former Cultural Affairs Director for the Maplewood Recreation Department and his role as a co-founder of Maplewood Community Music. Dillon details how Buchanan has had a hand in almost every signature arts venue and event in town over the past few decades — including Maplewoodstock. Buchanan has also long been active as a member of the Hilton Neighborhood Association.
