Maplewood Mayor Vic DeLuca and “Mayor for a Day” Mack Meade
Today’s Maplewood Memorial Day Service had a special twist: Accompanying Mayor Vic DeLuca was “Mayor for a Day” Mack Meade.
The 11-year-old lives in West Orange where he attends St. Cloud Elementary School, but he has strong Maplewood connections through his grandfather John Meade, proprietor of St. James’s Gate Publick House in Maplewood Village.
The young Meade showed his genetic gregariousness by graciously greeting all the attendees including police and fire personnel, veterans, town officials and members of the public. The future looks bright for local leadership in Maplewood!
