Small Business Saturday will be taking place on Saturday, November 26th (post-Thanksgiving) and the South Orange Village Center Alliance is asking you to support local business at a discount.

Small Business Saturday began as a national American Express promotional event and has since transformed into an expression of local entrepreneurship and town spirit organized by SOVCA and powered by the community.

Explains SOVCA, “The first 150 people who come to the SOVCA tent at the corner of Sloan Street and South Orange Avenue will receive a special coupon that is good for $10 at any SOVCA store or service provider. Just spend $25 or more at your favorite store or service establishment and you’ll receive $10 off your purchase.”

“The only rules are that there is only one coupon per person, you must spend $25 or more at any one Village Center (downtown) establishment, and you can only use the coupon for merchandise or services, not for food.”

Natalie Farrell of Weichert Realtors is to thank for sponsoring the promotion.

There will be more promotions for local South Orange businesses in the future, but SOVCA wants to encourage folks to support local businesses on November 26th and exhibit the power of community commerce.
