Every July, he goes missing. And every July, the youngsters of Maplewood set out on a town-wide hunt to find Waldo of “Where’s Waldo” fame, in a contest sponsored by Words Bookstore but benefiting small businesses throughout town.
How can you and your kids help find Waldo?
First, pick up your “Find Waldo” passport at Words Bookstore. Then, keep your eyes open. Whenever you spot the small cardboard Waldo cutout hiding in 25 local shops and restaurants throughout town, get your passport stamped or signed.
Once you have collected at least ten different stamps or signatures, bring them to Words to get your “I Found Waldo” button and a $1 off coupon for Waldo books and a pin. (This is limited to the first 100 people to bring in passports.)
Spot Waldo at 20 stores (and get stamped or signed), and be entered in a grand prize drawing for Waldo books and other prizes. The prizes will be awarded at a grand celebration at Words on Thursday, July 27 at 4 p.m.
