From The Achieve Foundation of South Orange & Maplewood:
Achieve is inviting local businesses, organizations and families to become sponsors of the 24th Annual Newstead 5K, taking place Saturday, September 26. Proceeds from the event support Achieve’s programs that benefit students and educators at schools throughout our school district.

Sponsorship levels are available to fit every marketing budget, offering local businesses and organizations a high-visibility opportunity to connect with the SOMA community while supporting our public school students, families and educators. Sponsors who sign on by August 31 will be featured on the event’s popular N5K T-shirts, worn by participants on race day and throughout the year (and beyond).
The Newstead 5K draws runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. A Toddler Race and Kids Fun Run following the 5K make this a true family event. The race starts at 9:00 a.m. at the South Mountain School Annex and winds through the Newstead neighborhood, with volunteers on hand throughout the course.

This year’s event is anchored by lead sponsor The Able Baker and Kids Fun Run sponsor SOMEA (South Orange Maplewood Education Association), whose generosity helps make the race possible for the hundreds of runners, walkers and families who take part each year.
Runners and walkers are encouraged to register today before prices increase on September 15th. All proceeds from the race will help Achieve continue to support the students, families and educators in our district through initiatives like Achieve’s Volunteer Tutor Program, Educator Grants, Support for the Arts, STEM Education including Maker Madness, and much more.
Businesses and community members interested in sponsoring can email [email protected], complete the online form or visit https://achievefoundation.org/newstead-5k/
