Community Forum for Immigrants at Seth Boyden School March 2

The following is from the South Orange Maplewood School District

This past month, both South Orange and Maplewood became Sanctuary Cities, communities that are welcoming to immigrants regardless of their status.

On Thursday, March 2 at 7 pm, the two townships along with the SOMSD Parenting Center will host a Q&A for immigrants and allies on these issues with immigration experts. The discussion will take place at the Seth Boyden School Library, at 274 Boyden Avenue in Maplewood.

The talk is for immigrants & allies who work, study, or live in Maplewood, South Orange, or a nearby town and are worried about how new executive order policies might affect immigrants in the community.

The Q&A will address:

  • The latest Executive Orders
  • Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
  • The rights of documented and undocumented immigrants

The discussion will be a safe space and participants will have a chance to freely ask questions and voice their concerns.
