Community-Wide Volunteer Fair Coming to the Woodland March 25

From SOMA Two Towns for All Ages:

SOMA Two towns for all ages will be hosting a community-wide volunteer fair on:

Sunday, March 25, 1-4pm at The Woodland.

Recognizing that volunteerism is an important part of our community, both in terms of giving and receiving, this Volunteer Fair will bring community organizations and potential volunteers together to talk, meet and find ways people can get involved and share their time and talents.

Many residents are looking to for ways to get involved and give back, especially people new to the area, those with young families and recent retirees. There are dozens of local community organizations offering social services, arts, educational opportunities, advocacy and events – part of the fabric that makes our community so attractive to live in. So, living up to the name, SOMA Two Towns for All Ages decided on a community-wide volunteer fair for people of all ages to come together and connect.

Every year, teens are looking for opportunities for confirmation, mitzvah projects and community service requirements. Families new to the area are seeking ways to connect and get involved. Recent retirees and stay-at-home parents – people who may suddenly find they have time of their hands – want to share their time and talents in meaningful ways. All of these oportunities and matches can be found at the volunteer fair.

CBOs (Community Based Organizations) are invited to have a table at the volunteer fair to share information and talk to potential volunteers face-to-face. Any group interested in attending the event (as well as volunteers interested in helping the day off) should contact:

SOMA Two Towns For All Ages is also developing a guide to help potential volunteers find a match for their interests and talents. It will be printed for the volunteer fair and copies made available at other venues to help match potential volunteers with community groups.   Any group interested in having their information included, whether they can attend the fair or not should contact us by March 9.
