From the South Orange Public Library:
Where have all the good books gone? Basements, attics, top shelves or the backs of closets?
Please, please search your basements, attics and closets and on Wednesday, June 20 from 11 AM to 4PM or Thursday, June 21 from 3PM to 8PM bring these treasures to the Baird Recreation Center, 5 Mead Street. Whether they be paperback or hard cover books; fiction or nonfiction; coffee table albums or outgrown children’s books, they will find loving homes. They should be gently used. Magazines, textbooks and almanacs from the past cannot be used.
They will be sold to fund new acquisitions and programs. In addition, some may be placed in the Little Free Libraries scattered around the village, others may go to the book drop to be sent to Better World Books and select ones may be shared with school libraries.
The sale will begin on Saturday, June 23 from 10 AM to 4 PM (Special Hour for purchases by members of the Friends of the Library and teachers with school ID at 9 AM). Sunday, June 24 from 10 AM to 3 PM we will be holding our bag sale — buy as much as you can cram into the bag that we will sell you for a nominal price.
You will find great books for summer reading as well as old favorites you have always meant to re-read. Children will be delighted to begin or add to their own library. All these will be priced to sell!
