Maura Flanagan needs your vote.

Flanagan grew up in Maplewood and now teaches in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Transition Center. The Columbia High School grad (class of 2006) is competing for a $100,000 grant. Supporters can vote once a day through October 31 to help propel the Brooklyn Transition Center’s Learning Labs to victory.

According to Flanagan, the Learning Labs will bridge the gap from school to work for her students. “All of our students are students with disabilities … and from various socio-economic backgrounds,” Flanagan explains in the video. The school is building the lab spaces so that students can “practice being in the real world together.”

The grants are funded by Farmers. Educators from across the country submitted proposals dreaming of the possibilities a $100,000 Farmers Insurance grant could bring to their communities.

Vote early and vote often for Laura Flanagan!
