Morrow Church Announces MLK Day Events and Activities

The following is from Morrow Memorial United Methodist Church in Maplewood:

The Morrow Church community will be celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 15) as follows and invites the entire community to participate:

Peace and Justice Mural

Stop by Morrow Church on Monday, Jan. 15 anytime between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and put some paint on our Peace and Justice Mural. For families and SOMA residents of all ages — be a part of a creative statement of our hope for beloved community.

Be a Maker with our Older Community Members

Join Morrow members visiting with residents of South Mountain Rehabilitation Center (between Home Depot and Target on Springfield Ave.) and make a blanket with them on Monday morning, Jan. 15 between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Sign up on the Morrow website www.morrowchurch.org and you’ll receive an email with details. Families of all ages are welcome.

Supplies for Homeless People

On January 23rd there will be a count of homeless people in NJ. Let’s make it a moment of compassion and provide some much needed supplies:

Please drop off items at Morrow Church on Monday morning or any time during the week between 9-5 p.m. until January 21.

– Blankets
– Hygiene kits or any part of them (dental supplies, shaving kits, bath supplies — travel sized are best)
– Gift cards for grocery stores, CVS, Target, Walgreens
