From Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County (IHN):

Every year, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County (IHN) holds a fundraising breakfast attracting 350 individuals to help raise unrestricted funds critical to providing shelter and services to homeless families. To kick off this year’s “Dreaming of Home” event, slated for Thursday, October 20th at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, the Board of Trustees appointed board members and Short Hills residents Denise Glassman and Roxanne Kam as co-chairs.  Their goal is to not only plan the logistics of the breakfast, but to recruit sponsors to fully fund the event.

Co-chair Denise Glassman noted, “Our mission for the breakfast is twofold:  educate attendees as to the breadth and depth of the programming that IHN offers its families and garner support for these programs through sponsorships and pledges.  IHN helps transform families’ lives by providing them temporary shelter while also assisting with job counseling, budgeting, after-school care and ongoing services for housing stability.”

IHN has set the fundraising target at $250,000 in pledges and gifts. These funds will enable the organization to provide homeless families with emergency shelter, case management services, and resources to help parents find and sustain their own homes.

Roxanne Kam comments, “We are so happy to be co-chairs of this year’s breakfast. We look forward to joining with those who care about families in Essex County to learn of the great work that happens at IHN and help make this years’ breakfast a success!”

IHN welcomes business owners to contact Ellen Donker for sponsorship opportunities at ellen@ihnessexnj.org or 973 746-1400.
